connecticut got nailed a lot worse than expected. dan berry almost nine inches. one location in central jersey was about 12 inches, but there wasn't a lot of high reports near there. we have to verify that. central park in new york city had almost five inches which is unheard of this early in the season. the storm almost looks like a tropical storm. it's wrapping warmer air into new england. the roads will melt in a hurry in especially the high traffic areas. the snow has just about ended in the white. a little left here. the big heavy snows are done with in just about all areas. so we're going to deal with rain, drizzle and strong gusty winds. if there's going to be any wind damage this morning, it's going to be out here on cape cod. providence, good wind. we have been gusting in the 50s for the last couple hours over the island and all through cape cod. that's the only issue with the storm left. as i mentioned, the temperatures are starting to go above freezing especially the big cities. the highways will see improvement as we go throughout the morning. the for

heels of an amazing historic snowstorm which dumped as much as 40 inches of snow in areas of southern connecticut. mind boggling snow totals from northern long island with plus 30 inches all the way up to maine with 35 inches. how widespread the snow was is just crazy. people are still digging out. still 100,000 people without power. the next mini system is coming through. the roads have been cleared. we have freezing rain, sleet and snow moving into the areas that were just hit by this big storm. this is not going to cause too many long-term issues. just for the morning commute. for this morning there are a lot of school delays, a lot of one or two hour delays and the snow and sleet has already started in the hudsonvillely and birk shears. since i'm the bearer of all good news, this upcoming weekend another big storm could be coming for the east coast. this isn't set in stone. we're starting to see the signs, the potential. it's too early to tell if it's going to be rain, snow, who's going to get nailed. there's a huge trough in the east coast. it allows all the cold air to spill down from the f
